Spinal Decompression
Spinal decompression therapy is a gentle, non-surgical
treatment designed to relieve pressure on the spine and help reduce back and
neck pain. This therapy works by slowly stretching the spine using a
specialized table. The controlled stretching creates space between the
vertebrae, which helps take pressure off compressed discs, nerves, and joints.
When the spine is gently decompressed, it creates negative
pressure within the discs. This can help bulging or herniated discs move back
toward their normal position and allows important nutrients, oxygen, and fluids
to flow back into the discs to support healing. Many patients experience relief
because this process reduces irritation on the spinal nerves that often cause
pain, numbness, or tingling in the back, neck, arms, or legs.
Spinal decompression is commonly used to treat conditions
such as herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, spinal
stenosis, and chronic neck or lower back pain. Treatments are comfortable and
relaxing, with most sessions lasting about 15–30 minutes. Patients remain fully
clothed while the table gently performs cycles of stretching and relaxation.
